I took a drink of a long dark night,
then drunk on doubt I cursed the light
But there's a certain love that I seem to recall,
here when I rise, here when I fall.

I had a dream but it fell apart,
a trusted friend who broke my heart.
But there's a certain love that I seem to recall,

Dressed in rags and riches,
it dances over fallen bridges
Along the gutters and down the ditches,
across valleys and mountain ridges
Certain love

I built a house but the ground was sand,
the rains came down and it could not stand
But there's a certain love when you've lost it all,
here when we rise, here when we fall

It's a certain love that I seem to recall,
