Friday, July 5

A transformer blew after Aaron Sprinkle's song, right before Mike Roe was due to appear. I had to leave then, so I don't know what transpired after that.

Jeff Elbel + Ping scored bonus points for dressing up for the occasion and for the awesome four-part harmony. Rollyn Zoubek and Brooks Williams resurfaced to join Jan Krist in her number. If it wasn't for the long waits in-between songs (they wanted to get everything perfect because the concert was being recorded), it would have been a lot of fun.

As an aside, it seemed like everywhere I went I saw a Townsend lurking about with a camera. Freaky.

All the songs played came off of Making God Smile, the new Brian Wilson tribute album from Silent Planet Records. You can read more about it here: www.SilentPlanetRecords.com/tribute.html.
